Junior Drilling Supervisor
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Accountable for supervising onsite personnel during the implementation of the operational plans.
- Ensure the safe performance of all operations and to report any accidents or incidents in accordance with CPGLI reporting guidelines
- Perform all duties assigned or requested by the Senior Drilling Supervisor, assisting the Senior Drilling Supervisor to ensure that all operations are planned and executed in accordance with the HSE policies and procedures, whether COPI or contractor documents, in accordance with the presiding bridging document.
- Attend pre-job safety meetings for all critical jobs and supporting the STOP cards by example while encouraging the safety to all onsite personnel.
- Personally conduct regular safety and environmental audits of the offshore drilling facilities.
- Ensure that the instructions of the Senior Drilling Supervisor are communicated to and understood by all affected personnel.
- Ensure that operations are completed in accordance with approved procedures or as otherwise approved by the Senior Drilling Supervisor.
- Track and record operational progress and prepare daily reports including DDR, cost, and safety.
- Assist the Senior CPGL representative during any onsite emergencies; including well control events.
- Assist the Senior Drilling Supervisor with operational logistics coordination
- Read and become familiar with the all applicable CPGL HSE standards, policies and procedures.
- Continuously look for ways to improve the efficiency of operations and communicate such recommendations verbally to the Senior Supervisor.
- Work directly with the office engineer(s) to ensure thorough reporting of all activities and costs
- Provide office based operational support as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required & Preferred Skills/Competencies
- Technical excellence in all aspects of drilling, testing, completions, workover and HPHT operations.
- Significant and recent exposure to critical onshore drilling operations.
- Computer proficiency in word processing spread sheet and engineering application software – WellView drilling data management system.
- Ability to review drilling operations performance and make recommendations to engineering and management on the adoption of new equipment or techniques to improve operations.
- Minimum of 12 years of industry experience in drilling operations
- Must hold a valid IWCF or IADC well control certificate for Drilling Supervisor level in surface stack operations (minimum).
- Bachelor or Technical Engineering Degree or lesser qualification with appropriate number of years experience as Drilling supervisor.
Senior Drilling Supervisor
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Responsible for the safety and environmental awareness with all onshore company / contract staff such that operations are carried out in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Conduct safety and environmental audits on the onshore drilling facilities.
- Provide supervision of all wellsite activities, ensuring that operational work plans are performed safely and continuously improved. Ensure work plans are communicated to and understood by all affected personnel.
- Review and optimize drilling programs / procedures & therefore ensure successful and efficient implementation of the drilling program.
- Exercise leadership and judgment in dealing with emergencies; and in particular, act as an expert resource in well control situations.
- Ensure that equipment and procedures are in place to deal with emergencies and unexpected deviations from the well plan.
- Ensure optimal deployment of wellsite resources and logistical support by planning ahead for likely operations and contingencies.
- Ensure good communication between office, logistics base and rig.
- Coordinate, supervise, and critique service company activities.
- Continuously identify ways to reduce costs and improve DC&WO program effectiveness without sacrificing quality, production rates, or reserves.
- Assist and communicate CPGL production operations as required.
- Mentor and develop junior Indonesian drilling/completion engineers
- Ensure that all in-country safety, regulatory, and environmental guidelines are followed.
- Ensure that operational activities conform to the government regulation.
- Ensure that all corporate policies and practices are maintained and adhered to.
- Provide office based operational support as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required & Preferred Skills/Competencies

- Key participant in developing procedures for onsite emergency preparedness
- Minimum of 20 years of industry experience in all aspects of drilling supervision.
- MPD experienced is preferable.
Special Skills, Training, & Certifications
- Must hold a valid IWCF well control certificate for Drilling Supervisor level in surface stack operations (minimum).
- Bachelor or Technical Engineering Degree or lesser qualification with appropriate number of years experience as Drilling supervisor..
