To strengthen the existing management team and to ensure the achievement of the company objectives, the Martabe Gold Mine is looking for candidate to fill the role:
CRANE DRIVER - DAYSHIFT (PRO 1604015)
This position will be based at Martabe site working on schedule 4 weeks on; 2 weeks off and reports directly to the Material Handling Leading Hand.
The role of Crane Driver is to provide ‘hands-on’ support for the Material Handling Supervisor, so as to ensure that all lifting and transport activities carried out by the Material Handling team are performed in a professional, safe, diligent, timely, cost efficient and cost effective manner, whilst taking into consideration the priority requirements of the Process Plant and associated infrastructure’s mechanical plant, equipment & apparatus being attended to.
Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience :
- Possess approved Crane Operating & Rigging qualifications.
- Possess a valid recognised HE Driver’s licence
- Experience in similar positions within the mining, oil & gas or similar heavy industrial environment.
- A good understanding of world class mining standards and associated safety standards (ANZS, BS, IEC & ASTM)
- Thorough knowledge with developing and approving lift plans to suit specific mobile cranes up to 300t capacity.
- Interpretation of mobile crane operating & maintenance manuals.
- Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards within the mineral processing industry.
- Thorough knowledge of safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to perform routine inspections & maintenance on lifting apparatus. Eg. Chains, slings, shackles, spreaders, hooks, blocks, clamps, tie-downs, lever hoists, chain-blocks.,
- Thorough knowledge of acceptable lifting devices, apparatus & attachments.
- Ability to understand and efficiently carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to demonstrate ‘Safe Working Procedures’ to subordinates.
- Ability to estimate the amounts of labour, materials, and equipment required for tasks / projects.
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records.
- Reasonable English language verbal & written communication skills.
